I’m pretty sure this was my first visit here and I received a warm welcome. Not the greatest pint I have ever tasted however and, looking around, I’m pretty sure nobody else was drinking cask beer.

The pub is found in Forest Gate, Greater London, E7 9BB.

A traditional pub which has resisted gentrification, standing across the road from Forest Gate railway station. Four handpumps on the bar are however a new addition in 2017. What must once have been several rooms have been opened out, leaving the bar counter almost as an island, and with a small area for a pool table at the back. There are a few surviving features including fireplaces and, marvellously, a spittoon all around the bar counter. Paved garden at the rear.

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried 1 of them.
