Visits Details

26 Jan 2018 (Stephen Harris)
My first visit here, after being impressed by the Pretty Decent beer in cask at Pig’s Ear. Just a couple of other customers and a good chance to chat with brewery owner James.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Pretty Decent - Transatlantic Pale4.90ExcellentFrom key-keg. A hazy, golden beer, brewed in an APA style but using English hops – UK Chinook, UK Cascade and Jester. Interestingly, the first impression is of spicy, peppery Kentish hops but with a herbal edge too (coming from the Chinook I think). Not citrusy at all.
Pretty Decent - APA4.50ExcellentFrom key-keg. A golden beer that is obviously in a US style and has lush hop flavours from Chinook, Cascade and Sorachi Ace.
Pretty Decent - Project IPA6.60ExcellentFrom key-keg. A full-blown Yankee IPA with big hop flavours from Mosaic, El Dorado and Citra.

The pub is found in Forest Gate, Greater London, E7 9EF.

The Pretty Decent Beer Co. was established in 2017, using a railway arch location in Forest Gate. It is a small brewery, producing beer for bottle and key-keg. A contribution from each pint sold is made to Pump Aid, a water supply charity that is active in Malawi. Part of the brewery premises is operational as a taproom on Friday evenings and Saturdays, with plans to extend this to a Thursday – Sunday opening pattern from March 2018 (check website for latest hours).

We have visited this pub once, seen 3 different beers and tried them all.
