Evening visit. Never known it so full with people having to stand too.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale)4.30AcceptableReplacement ale was from a newly opened minikeg can - very fresh and acceptable but no way would want another
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00PoorAfter a few sips I could not have finished it. Very poor - poured from a metal pin and poured flat and lifeless and very tired. Replacement given and acknowledged as virtually from an empty cask
Hobsons - Twisted Spire3.50Not Tried
24 Dec 2022 (Philip Pirrip)
Late evening visit until its "until late" close. The temptation was more Harvey's Christmas Ale. Ended on a bottle of "wot the monks drink" Westmalle 4.8% Extra, a fairly new addition to its commercial output.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Christmas Ale7.50ExcellentA whole pint as Santa's nightcap

Late afternoon to early evening fairly busy yet a relaxed atmosphere despite attracting a younger crowd than the Park Tavern. Always good to see a pub back on the P&B radar again..
