Visits Details

27 Aug 2022 (Jack William)
Early evening to watch football on TV. No other reason to visit this pub these days. No draft ale, no craft beers and not even a keg bitter. Had a bottle of Newcastle Brown and quite enjoyed the footie (even though Fulham lost).

The only pub Ian's ever been thrown out of - some 25 years ago for an accident with a coin. Today we sat on a wonky metal table.

Early afternoon, the music from the juke box was a bit too loud and not to my taste.

Late Sat afternoon - multiple sports screens - very blokey - but not unriuly.

sat afternoon - moderately busy - blue baize pool table with restricted access is a novelty. Just the one ale on with one more "coming soon".

I don't come here very often! Quiet with a few people playing pool in the corner.
BeerABVScoreNotes

23 Dec 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Quiet before lunch on a Sunday.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Brains - Fir King Good4.00AcceptableLight brown bitter with little hop character and a faint maltiness. My score 14/20.
27 Oct 2008 (Andrew)
The pub was done up with halloween stuff plus some weird miltary-like netting thing on the ceiling. Gone were the comfy chairs by the window and the bench on which, years ago, Ian accidently flicked a coin over his head hitting a barmaid and earning himself a ban.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale)4.20GoodVery cold. Tasted reedy and of cain sugar. Quite nice but too cold.
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70Not Tried
