2pm and very busy for meal deals. Some good ales on.

2200 and all is quiet and much better alewise on this visit.

8pm and not too busy now. Noted some improvement here after what has been a terrible week for this JD?

A few beers were shown as not available. My friend had a pint of Harviestoun - Schiehallion which he had to return as vinegar from the Muggleton another Maidstone Wetherspoons pub in Maidstone this afternoon, as I did last Wednesday.Several regulars were drinking Guiness. Why? Whats going on? Beer quality is slipping.Several reports here of below standard beers in Wetherspoons pubs in Kent. Perhaps they cant keep their beers in good condition in hot weather?

1930 and getting busy. Got to slate this place this week, a diasppointing selection on that hasn't changed much at all this week. Two Flower Pot regulars in here tonite who were not impressed either.(This is why I revert to my other favourite tipple, Guinness..........?). They could do better than this,

All the beers were showing as being available. On my last visit the first 4 I asked for were not on, so I walked out.

This pub seems to have on at least 10 beers. Wow!!Until the manager tells you most arent available. He cant turn the pump clips around as he will lose 'points' if the mystery wetherspoons shopper turns up. Unfortuntely this way he will lose customers. Advertising beers that arent on and will not be on is surely against the trade descriptions Act? What happened to the available soon signs?

1900 and not too crowded and all set for the kick-off!

8pm and a half decent crowd in, swelled by the live football no doubt.

Back home and finished the day here and not too busy at 7pm.

2130 and a fair crowd in. Still some good ales on as well.

2200 and all is quiet. 7 festival ales on.

Arrived at 1745 and, at last, the final two festival ales needed were found here! And yet again, as per last October, even with the slow turnover in the Muggleton, these two Wetherspoons have provided all 50 of the festival Ales between them. Well done.

About 13:00 hours on a Saturday. The usual mix of drinkers and families, with the added sound of a group of Morris Dancers walking around trying to find a table, and going to the bar.

Arrived at 2100 and getting busy. Only one ale changed.

After seeing that Kentish Al had seen 4 of the festival beers that I'd not had yet at this pub last night, I took a couple of hours off work and popped up to Maidstone to try them. Especially as it was the Culloden which I'd been looking out for. That's why I love this site, you see a beer on at a pub that you want and then you go. Easy.

On this 2200 visit and some slight changes from the night before. Can echo Ian's comments. The bang up to date info is spot on using Pubsandbeer!

At 2200, after finding no changes in the "other" JD, this consistently good JD came up trumps yet again with two ale changes tonite.

At 2130, and with no changes in the "other" JD, the Society Rooms saved the night with one new ale and some..

At 2215, two new ales on and two more to saviour! Still holding up in consistency.

Last knockings tonight and all is quiet, but two ales changed since last visit. One new ale found plus another interesting one..

I saw on this site that Ian had found Fremlins Bitter on sale here today, so I was on the next train to Maidstone. Typical Sunday afternoon with people having Sunday lunches, and I noticed a considerable demand for Fremlins. The person behind the bar had no idea that Fremlins used to be a Maidstone firm.

Far better tonite than Easter Monday and the day after, with no less than 4 new fest ales picked up. Fairly quiet on my entrance at 2250 compared to the other place! The Society Rooms are back in my good books...

Still no fest ales on, so, just a Guinness to be sociable with a couple I know. Very quiet.

Tonite, after visiting the excellant Muggletons, this place, unusually, was a disgrace, with only the Ruddles on offer! Straight out the door..

A mid evening visit and not too crowded either. And good to see the excellant cellarman from the Swan on this side of the bar for a change! Also found the up coming beer festival programme/tasting notes here, and it certainly looks good! Word also reaches me that, as per last October's beer festival, all 50 ales will be available in both the Maidstone JDw's. Bring it on!

Only a few beers on, but found one i liked. Much better pub than the Muggleton, Maidstones other Wetherspoons pub. Walked in during the week. They looked like they had 11 beers on, but when i tried to order a beer, the first 5 were not on!!So I walked out. Against the trade descriptions act? Just turn the handpump around please or advertise your most popular beer as sorry not available!

Ok so its not the best pub in the world but it is right next to the railway station and the beer quality is very good for any pub now never mind for a 'Spoons. I really trust this pub for beer now. Usual mix of drinkers and office types at 5 in the afternoon.

before 10am visit !...again only listed beer drank as many although displayed were not available !!!!!!!

It's a spoons by a station. I was only here because of Ian's desire to sip more spoonsfest beers.

Certainly the better of the 2 Spoons in Maidstone now for beer. And so close to the station you can run out, get a quick pint and catch a train five minutes later, great for connections.

At least the bar staff weren't wearing fancy dress. Had a half but had to leave quickly as my train was due.

Fairly empty on an early Wednesday evening. 10 handpumps with 8 beers from the Autumn festival plus Pedigree and Incubus (again!!!!!) To be honest if it wasn't for the fact that this was slap bang next to the train station I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it.

Busy Wetherspoons next to Maidstone East station. Only had a bottle of Red Lion beer from New Zealand as none of the draught beers inspired me. However, enjoyed people watching out of the window

Pub number 3 for me and Andrew. After looking at the beer line up at Muggletons and the Druid's Arms, we ended up here for a pint and something to drink. Usual Wetherspoons range plus a couple or 3 guests. Pub is on ground floor of office block just near Maidstone East station.

Ian immediately spotted the JHB pump click and ran off to the bar. Fairly busy Friday lunch time in an uninspiring pub.

By Maidstone East, this Wetherspoons is set in the quadrangle formed by office blocks. Some seating outside in good weather and lots of glass gives this pub an airy feeling even though it is surrounded by buildings. Up to 4 guest beers and usual Wetherspoons range
