Was in the area so we decided to come here first for some lunch. It was a gorgeous day so we sat in the garden at the rear which was very peaceful and timeless. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExcellentReally good stuff. Roasted malt and coffee with tell-tale Goacher's milkiness in the background.

I arrived 10 minutes after it opened at midday and not surprisingly I was the first customer in. I'd been wanting to come here ever since I'd seen in the Good Beer Guide that they did Goachers. The pub has 2 bars; a small 'public bar' and a 'main bar'. The 'main bar', where I sat, was sizable with plenty of seating and a good real fire. I sat by the fire, drank Goachers' Mild and ate fish 'n' Chips. The lady behind the bar was very friendly and I like the pub quite a lot.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40GoodThe one and only Goacher's Mild. Fresh and in good condition. No real chocolate or coffee flavours unfortunately but very drinkable.
Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70GoodI tried a half as most of the bar were drinking it and it looked in good condition. I was surprised by the Turkish-Delight flavours and the strong bitter rose petal finish but it was in good condition.
