Late evening visit until close and just as the Harvey's ran out and was changed.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00Good2nd pint out of a new cask just put on. Will mature better for tomorrow. Very much bitter end of the Harvey's Best possible taste spectrum. Getting pricey here

BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentPrime condition and maybe this is the yardstick for what Harvey's Best should taste like, but rarely does elsewhere
Greene King - Abbot5.00GoodJust a half, good condition but unexceptional

Evening visit - all seats taken but soon vacated as live TV football ended. How come I have not visited this back-street gem for almost 11 years to the day.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentI sometimes wonder what Harvey's Best should taste like but this must be a model for what it should be like. Superb
Greene King - Abbot5.00ExcellentSuperb condition - a rare example of a bitter Abbot in peak condition

We had a good chat with the guv who told us a bit about the history of the pub. A nice traditional pub.

Early evening busy with locals and after work office staff. Proper pub atmosphere for a back street pub. Map updated to show correct location.

Late afternoon and busy back street drinkers local. Although the postcode is correct in the description, the map link shows a false location. The pub is on North Road close to the White Horse.

2215 hours visit. A hubbub of conversation but not overly busy.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Joseph Holt (see also Holt's) - Maplemoon4.30ExcellentVery tasty - clip says it has a twinkle of maple but as I do not know what maple tastes like I could not trace it. Interesting dry taste
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodMy first and third. Was very good and, for once, very hoppy bitter rather than fruity cloying but I have marked it down for being inconsistent enough to have little idea what a pint will taste like from pub to pub

The pub is found in Bromley, Greater London, BR1 3LG.

Easily the best traditional pub in Bromley and, yes, it is tied to Greene King. Presumably came into the possession of Greene King via its previous Beard's of Lewes ownership. Small and cosy in North Road, tucked well away in the backstreets, always bustling of an evening, great value food during the daytime. Big darts contingent and huge library of old books to read. GK IPA and Abbot, Harvey's Sussex Best and two guests, one of which is usually from GK's over-extended family. Landlord is a local hero. All browsers of this website are urged to visit this hard to find location in the web of little roads north of Bromley North railway station. 5 handpumps.

We have visited this pub 12 times, seen 22 different beers and tried 11 of them.
