10:50 I had been asked to conduct a pub crawl for some new CAMRA members who wanted to spend their 'Spoons vouchers. Here seemed a good place for the 10 of us to meet. Coffee with breakfast followed by beer.

10:45 Breakfast stop before an outing to North West London. I had planned on a coffee but my fellow travellers had started on beer so sheep-like I followed them. The pub was very quiet.

Everards (see entries against Joule's & Robinsons whilst its new brewery was being built) - Saint Louis Schlafly Pale Ale4.40Not TriedThe clip was very interesting. A small blue and cream roundel proclaiming Schlafly Beer brewed in Saint Louis. When we returned in the evening this had been replaced with the Everards clip. Someone must have complained.

09:45 My first visit here. Surprising given its proximity to a railway station. Breakfast with coffee followed by a beer. It was very quiet with just a few breakfasters.

2305 hours visit. It closes early at 2330. Cider festival is on so the fridges are plentifully populated with polypins. Required a substantial top up on every pint and saw many others pass across the bar. Premium Wetherspoon's guest ale pricing here with all reals at £3.20 pp presumably reflecting the tourist trap setting of nearby Madame Tussauds.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Theakston - Old Peculier5.60ExcellentFull liquorice tones and gives no clue as to its 5.6% status. For some silly reason the beer some people are scared to drink

I’m not too familiar with the pubs around the Marylebone station area, and this seemed the best bet for a couple of pints after a day out by train in Birmingham.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sadler's (see also Windsor Castle entry) - Hop Bomb5.00ExcellentVery classy, American-style IPA. Golden and hazy with a huge hop aroma. Massively hoppy taste, dominated by tropical fruits.

Getting progressively busy from 5pm.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Nethergate (was Nethergate Growler for a while then name reverted) - IPA Reserve4.70ExcellentGolden in colour and with a large dose of malt giving a biscuity flavour with a cereal malt finish. Not that well hopped. My score 16/20.
Arundel - New Horizons4.60AcceptableDark amber with a mainly crystal malt flavour leading to a bittersweet and rather cloying finish. My score 14/20.
