Blair		24 Oct 2009	Hmmm, for a dark star beer this really is disappointing. Served a little too cold which didn't help it's cause. But just not enough flavour. A little roasted malt was about all I could taste. Pleasant, but I've come to expect better. Shows how good Dark Star is when I find a beer disappointing yet still rate it as good.

Ian		20 Dec 2008	This was a little flat in condition, but still quite rounded and had a good oily dark roast malt flavour.

Blair		03 Oct 2008	Dark brown not black as I'd expect. This is a lovely beer. Nice roasted malt and chocolate with a great mouthfeel. Top stuff.

Ian		09 Nov 2006	Now badged simply as Dark Star Porter, but with the same ABV. Deep ruby, dark brown colour with thin bubbly beige head. Full rounded porter, quite juicy. Drying hop on end. Some liquorice. Dark malt and liquorice/molasses aroma. Very mild flavours though. Warming in mouth, quite juicy, dark fruits, damsons before a coffee mocha finish with a bit of powder. Quite difficult to pin down as a porter, juicy dark fruit rather than coffee/choc. Some sourness in mid palate, bit of vinous fruit.

Ian		21 Oct 2005	Dark chestnut with dark malt flavours and choc/coffee. Intense flavours in mouth. Nice richness with some acid to balance. Finish is good too with more choc and some liquorice. Hops on nose and finish. Yet another good beer from Dark Star
