Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

WittendenExceptional12 Dec 2012 Pennine session beer. A deal of flavour for the strength. This sparked a discussion about the upsurge of pale beers.

IanExcellent16 Jul 2009 I probably have not had this since Reading BF a few years ago. Hazy very pale gold, with a lasting white head. Bit of nettle on the aroma. Fantastic at just 3.4% ABV. A light ale with great hop sting on the finish. Awesome really. Yeast, lemon squash on the aroma. Again this great Thornbridge drinkability. Frankly a stunning lemony light bitter. Gorgeous and great intensity of flavour.

AndrewAcceptable18 Jul 2009 I didn't like this. This was an anaemic apple gold colour (making it look like a perry). It was astringent with a lemon-grapefruit hop bite.

DubbelGood05 Feb 2009 A pale session-strength beer that has won a lot of fans. It's good but for me a little too subtle, especially when compared directly with Hophead.

IanGood04 May 2007 Unbelievably pale gold, almost like a cider. Lasting bubbly white head. Really astringent aroma. Very very dry. Pretty good, but lacks a bit of back bone, but very very grassy.
