Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

McGargleGood14 May 2013 Uncompromisingly bitter and served in top condition. Just prefer the extra fruitiness of Jarl.
RayGood21 Dec 2011 Light, fruity and hoppy with easy drying finish. Just misses support from the malt bill to make a good beer great.
McGargleGood04 Dec 2011 Light golden and bitter with a bitter slightly fruity finish. Just lacking the tropical fruits of Jarl.

AngieExceptional22 Mar 2011 Ian was quite right. What a beer! Just right for this lady. Full of flavour. Tasted like something Dark Star would have brewed. Didn't make me want to cry, but I got a little emotional. Dave has several more Fynes beers in the cellar. Had run out by Tuesday.

IanExceptional18 Mar 2011 Not had this since Glasgow in 2007. When it comes to blond hoppy beers in stunning condition this is hard to beat. Stunning in the mouth with the right level of sting on the end. Peach apricot lychee aroma. Mouthfeel makes me want to cry it is that good. That pint will live with me throughout the year. The best condition I have ever had a beer in. Pint lasted 10 minutes even after 90 mins of drinking. Its everything I want a cask beer to be.

IanExceptional23 Aug 2007 Beer of the day for me. Gold, thin white head. Lovely citrusy bitter. Superb. Great beer in the Dark Star Hophead, Oakham JHB line. Excellent. So good I had another pint of it.
