Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

The Bull, Horton Kirby, Kent

DubbelGood02 Dec 2008 Disappointing when compared to previous samples. Strong 'rauchy' smoked cheese nose and flavour but this time lacking the voluptuous porter-like body that would normally make this a stand-out 5 star brew. Bad batch.

The Evening Star, Brighton, East Sussex

BrianExceptional23 Nov 2008 Tastes like Frazzles according to daughter and she's not wrong. Obviously smokey, but with a depth and balance that is superb. Could have had a couple but had to move on.

The Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate, Kent

BlairExcellent15 Nov 2008 Still fantastic, possibly even better than thursday.
BlairExcellent13 Nov 2008 This was close to getting 5 stars. Bavarian style rauch beer, the smoke is very apparent. Really interesting, and very tasty.

The White Swan, Reading Street, Kent

IanExcellent30 Nov 2007 A bit like a German Rauch but mixed with a good deep dark best bitter. Great condition.
