Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

Jack WilliamGood01 May 2023 I thought that this was a new Shep’s brew for me - but this site knows better! The pump clip said “malty, citrus, hoppy” trying to cover all bases it seems. I got citrus and hoppy, in a well kept pint. I’m sure the recipe has changed since the pint I had in the Shakespeare in 2015.

AlenomoreExceptional23 Apr 2010 New on for St Georges Day and a new brew that, according to the clip, came from Shep's oak mash tun. Certainly had a good all round taste, lots going on, which is very unusual for a Shep's ale! Several pints downed and regulars enjoyed it as well. (Tried the bottled version at 4.0% in the pub as well, but wouldn't recommend it, not that good at all).
ChrisEExcellent24 Feb 2010 A brew from the main brewery to celebrate St George's Day. The barman informed that the bottled version is a 4% brew.
