IanPoor22 Jun 2007 Badged as Cains Culture Beer. Odd toffee/yeast aroma. Some earthy hop and caramel malt in mouth, dusty earthy hop finish. Strange English strong beer. Aroma as if it is slightly tired and got some diacetyl. This is a bit ugly.

IanGood20 Mar 2007 Copper/gold colour with lasting thin white head. Some yeast on aroma, some sweet citrus. Just verging on pukey. Lager malt in mouth, soft in mouth, some fruit of the sweet citrus variety, strawberry aroma is actually relatively complex. The beer really opens up over time. Glad I had a pint of this. Aroma varies between malt, fruit and hop and yeast. Maybe a little thin on mouthfeel. Finish has sweet citrus fruit alcohol. Can't pigeon hole it. A strong golden ale? No, it's a bitter. Cool.
IanExcellent20 Jan 2006 Badged as 2008 Celebration Ale for the city of culture 08. Golden, thin white head. Some red berry, peach and apricot aroma. More fruit in mouth with apricot, pear drop and some sweetness. Finish has some hop bite. Really rather nice, strong and moreish

Cains 2008 Ale

5.00% ABV.

A full, clean and refreshing pale coloured bitter with an abundance of citrus hop character created by the blend of dry and late hopping techniques. It also has subtle hints of malt and fruit on aroma and palate which gives the beer a well rounded bal.
