Tasting Summary

These comments are the opinion of the individual reviewer and represent what they thought of the beer on a particular day in a particular pub. If a review is less favourable, it may be because the beer suffered somewhere in the supply chain between them and the brewery.

RayAcceptable20 Nov 2011 Initially good in the mouth. Some spice and fruit and good malt. But something in the short finish wasn't quite right. Maybe a touch astringent or soapy or phenolic - couldn't quite catch it.

McGargleGood24 Oct 2010 Light and hoppy. Interesting malts.
McGargleExcellent10 Oct 2010 Straw coloured with long lasting white head. Intense light hops on the nose with lemon grass and grapefruit flavours balanced by firm malt. Long, dry fruit finish. Almost 5*.
McGargleGood23 Jul 2010 Well balanced golden ale with a long bitter finish.

Krakatoa (formerly The Moorings Bar), Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire

RayNot Tried17 Aug 2013 Too many variable iterations of Burnside beers to risk this.
McGargleExcellent22 Sep 2010 Light straw colour, shone in the glass. Summer fruit aromas with light citrus flavours and smooth malt. Satisfying finish.
