Stephen HarrisExcellent28 Aug 2013 A black porter with a tan-coloured head. Good condition brought out a richness in the malt, with smooth chocolate tastes and a little bit of roast barley.

White Cliffs Beer Festival 2010, Dover, Kent

BlairGood05 Feb 2010 Very black with a bready, roasted malt flavour. Good but overshadowed by it's competitors.

The Pub, Leicester, Leicestershire

StuExcellent22 Jan 2010 Black in colour, with a coffee, licquorice and burnt malt taste.bitter malty taste to finish.

Great British Beer Festival 2008, Earl's Court, Central London

IanAcceptable06 Aug 2008 Black, thin beige head. Powdery choc aroma, powdery in mouth. It’s ok, a little bit of hop on end. Little bit thin maybe. Some dark fruit. Just not there in terms of quaffability.
