Lunchtime - had a long cycle here. A few diners in, pleasant enough. Nice to see something other than Sheps in the countryside around here.

Ah the Black Lion. We'd done a nice little walk around the lanes and then come here. A loud group of dinners was in keeping the staff busy. Friendly staff.

The main attraction of the day. The bar was busy when we arrived at about 3:30pm. We sat out in the garden for a bit which was enjoyable.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40GoodQuite tight and in need of some air. I wonder if blanket pressure is being used.
Goacher's - Fine Light Ale3.70GoodAfter a few pints had been poured this was actually very nice but again it felt like it could have done with a bit more mellowing
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10AcceptableIt was okay but the flavours hadn't come out to play yet.

A good crowd in. The friendly lady who served me said the Goachers is a permanent feature which is superb news. Still a great pub!

Cam and I got the train to Teynham and walked down along country lanes to the pub. When we arrived there was only one other person in and they were sitting at the bar. We sat by the fire place and drank Mr Goachers Beers

Lunchtime on a May Saturday:a small furry dog allegedly drank a lady's Fine Light Ale-I don't believe it!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Best Dark Ale (aka Original)4.10ExcellentWonderful beer! Dark 'n ' earthy, with an underlying wealth of hops. I hadn't drunk this in years, but it is even better than it was in the Smarden Bell in the '80s.
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40GoodThe refreshing side of sharp. Selling well, so perhaps it was me.

We'd been to check out an award winning butchers shop, and decided to come on here for a pie. Early on a warm October Saturday lunchtime, a few regulars enjoying their Goachers and talking about torque. Fine pub. We were intrigued by the gallows relaxing in the car park.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Goacher's - Real Mild Ale3.40ExcellentA classic mild, one of my desert island beers. Dark and chocolatey;full of mystery. Should really have tried this before the Silver Star.
Goacher's - Silver Star4.20ExcellentBadged as a Green Hop Ale.As pale as something from Yorkshire, but with that wonderful earthy Goacher's character.A long aromatic hop finish.
