Busy in the early evening rush hour.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kirkstall - Ignore the Ignorant4.20GoodA golden-coloured Blonde. A well-balanced ale.
Jaw Brew - Fathom4.00AcceptableA chocolaty Mild/Stout. Had none of the richness I recall from a previous occasion and in fact tasted a bit winey. Probably past its best condition.

The Southwark stood just outside the police cordon around Borough Market, so has been able to trade in recent days. Nevertheless it is very much part of the Borough Market Family tonight. Despite the line-up of cask beers, I opted for a three thirds sampler tray of imported Sierra Nevada keg beers from the USA.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sierra Nevada - Tornado Extra IPA7.20GoodBig-hitting IPA, but lacking freshness.
Sierra Nevada - River Ryed6.00AcceptableRye beer. Spoiled by over-carbonation.
Sierra Nevada - Peach IPA (2017)5.80AcceptableInitially sticky-sweet, more complex flavours developed. But a third measure not really enough to appreciate this beer.

Pub very busy in the early evening – crowded both inside and out on the pavement. A comparatively pedestrian beer range here tonight (presence of the Champion Beer of Britain notwithstanding).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Timothy Taylor - Boltmaker (formerly Best Bitter)4.00AcceptableA malty, run-of-the-mill Bitter.

Early evening and very busy. £4:25 a pint in here now.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Portobello - Black London Stout4.10ExcellentNear black in colour. Creamy head and creamy mouthfeel all through. Some roast malt flavours and some fruity tang.

Relaxed atmosphere in here on a Sunday early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sunny Republic - Shark Head Friesian Pilsener5.00PoorI’m afraid that I didn’t think much of this one. A golden-coloured, cask lager. Over-chilled to the point of blandness. Any hops hard to detect. Had a metallic aftertaste.

Late evening. 2330 hours and still thriving presumably as inexplicably most other Borough Market pubs close at 2300 hours. A £4 pint hurts for a run of the mill ale though.

29 Dec 2012 (Martin the Mildman)
Starting to empty out a bit after the Saturday lunchtime rush.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sharp's - Winter Berry Ale (4.8% 2012 version)4.80GoodRuby coloured and quite malty with sweetish berry fruit notes. A little hop bitterness in the finish. My score 15/20.
26 Mar 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Very quiet by this pub’s standards, early on a Monday evening. Perhaps people have been put off by the recent price increases (£3:90 for my pint).
BeerABVScoreNotes
Kelburn - Red Smiddy4.10GoodA sweetish malty red ale that also has a citrus hop bite.

Highgate - Davenport's Strawberry Fields4.40AcceptableRather sickly artificial strawberry flavour superimposed on a malty base beer. My score 13/20.
