This was meant to be just a quick visit, but it is such a wonderful place that we ended up staying well into the evening. A cider festival underway and very big crowds present (not just for the cider I think), merging outside into the even bigger crowds at the Tyne Bar just down the hill.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Durham - White Stout7.20ExcellentA strong, hoppy, pale Ale.
Five Towns - Raven King5.50ExcellentFull-bodied black stout with a tan head.
Rat - Monkey6.00ExcellentA fab, smooth, red ale matured in whiskey casks. Nearly got a five star review from me (for a red!).
Summer Wine (SWB) - Portland Pale Ale4.90PoorOn keg dispense. Too cold and too fizzy, obliterating all flavour.
