Busy and loud.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Yeastie Boys Gunnamatta Tea Leaf IPA6.50ExcellentThis was a clever take on mdern IPAs and it succeeded. Great pallette of malts offset by judicious new world hopping to frame to the Earl Grey flavours. Subtle and moreish.
15 Mar 2014 (McGargle)
6pm and onesies already out in force.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sixpoint - Bengali Tiger (can) - was 6.4%6.50ExcellentSolid malty base overlaid with citrus and pine. More hop forward than the cask version.
26 Oct 2013 (McGargle)
Again busy. Ale seemed to be selling well. Fast & Friendly service.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Barley Mow5.00ExcellentSmooth and full bodied dark amber beer with great depth of flavour. Good showcase for what can still be done with Fuggles and Goldings.
Adnams - Stone Brewing Supremely Self-Conscious Black Ale5.00GoodLacking the hop slam I was hoping for - end of cask.
22 Oct 2013 (Ray)
Spoons continue to fill their bars. Good mix of interesting food and drinks plus value for money.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - The Abbot's Confession8.50ExcellentSurprised myself but this deserves 4*. Brave to produce a strong beer but the alcohol was shielded by solid malts and enough hopping to demand a second. Well done Spoons and GK.
