Quiet. Early evening. £3.80 a pint.

Orkney (Sinclair) - Corncrake Ale4.10GoodSurprised myself and really enjoyed this. Perfectly clear, sparkling condition, good depth of flavour and bitterness.

Pleasant, chatty atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Orkney (Sinclair) - Wayfarer IPA (Atlas range)5.00GoodHoppy IPA benefitted from tight sparkler.
27 Dec 2013 (McGargle)
Very quiet on this early evening visit. Bar staff thought £3.80 a pint was OK 'compared to Peroni'. Couldn't say I agreed. Disappointing how much poor quality ale is being served in Aberdeen these days.

Early evening and busy with diners.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Houston - Austr-ale-ia3.80GoodCompetent, lightly hopped (galaxy and summer) golden ale. Served refreshingly cool. £3.70.
22 Dec 2012 (Ray)
Very quiet. Single pump "Waiting for beer to settle" ie no ale at some significant cost to the bar - we left.

Quick beer whilst waiting for lift. It had to be one pint for at £3.70 a pint I wasn't for lingering.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Inveralmond - Independence3.80AcceptableDark golden malty, flinty ale typical of Inveralmond's house style. Not really to my taste.

I stood outside this pub for about forty minutes waiting for a bus to Banchory. It did not turn up so I popped in here and watched it go past as I enjoyed my pint. Bar staff were excellent, and best of all, here I was well North of Watford and NO SPARKLER, excellent!
BeerABVScoreNotes
Deeside - Talorcan4.50ExcellentA really tasty dark chocolaty beer.
09 Oct 2010 (Ray)
We'd popped in for a beer and a bite to eat but with ale at £3.40 a pint we supped our halves and went home. For us at least a point of price resistance had been found. The bar was nearly empty, incidentally.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Deeside - Brude3.50AcceptableThis had improved since last sampled. Firm malt body and some hint of fruity hops. Let down by phenolic overtones in the finish.
16 Nov 2009 (Ray)
Very quiet.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Houston - Peter's Well4.20AcceptableA tad green this was much lighter in colour and hoppier than I remember it. Malt added little to flavour. Even checked the cask to ensure it was Peter's Well - it was.
24 Sep 2009 (Ray)
Very quiet early evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Houston - Texas4.30AcceptablePoured a beautiful dark mahogany with a long lasting tight white head. Initial hints of fruit gave way to a malty taste with little evidence of hops. Short finish.
