Late evening busier than expected. I was expecting Sheps offerings however pleased to report no such findings. An unexciting beer range but what I had was well kept and in superb condition.

Mid evening unplanned visit due to local road closures my bus was diverted so it would've been rude not to pop on and glad I did. Comfortable spacious and relaxed bar area to enjoy one's pint, pity just the one choice available harks back to the halcyon days when Fullers owned this place with their full range of cask ales on offer including seasonal offerings, drinking Red Fox here springs to mind.

Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70ExcellentIn superb condition, I had to force another one down just to be certain.

Mid evening and busy, in fact the busiest I've seen this place. Various groups abound to which all to be drinking rather than dining. Disappointing beer range as always. Pity as is a comfortable spacious and welcoming atmosphere for a hotel bar.

Afternoon visit with just one other customer and at least three staff. I was hungry but could see no menus or chalk board so I assumed that the kitchen was closed, but on my departure the barman told me that they do food all day, a bit too late to find out as I had a bus to catch.

Early evening and fairly quiet, pub 3 of our Ashford periphery tour. I fear Shep's recent purchase of the nearby Old Mill may lead to its closure due to the loss of trade from here since conversion from the Golden Ball a few years ago.
