Wasn't on our list but Mike had wanted to try it so we went in. Not too busy. Big pub with high ceilings as I recall.

Quite busy with a mix of local and beer festival tourists.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Sandstone - Onyx4.00GoodDescribed as a Welsh Black Ale, this black beer has hop bitterness and chocolate maltiness, making it difficult to categorize. It's not a mild or stout, so black bitter or porter maybe. My score 15/20.

Quiet and a bit chilly in the main bar on a Thursday early evening – although I could have sat by the fire in the snug.

Offbeat - Outlandish Pale3.90GoodPale, smooth and very heavily, perhaps harshly, hopped.

BeerABVScoreNotes
Dunham Massey - Chocolate Cherry Mild3.80ExceptionalSuperb cherry flavour, dominant but still with some chocolate malt in the background. Finish is reminiscent of cherry liqueur. A classic. My score 18/20.
