Evening. An A-board blackboard outside shows 10pm closing as now standard throughout the week here. Felt very cliquey and a bit spartan. Its heyday was perhaps under Martin Christoff's tenure.

An otherwise quiet evening if it wasn't for a visit from the London based Mild drinkers club.

Harvey's - Dark Mild (or Sussex XX Mild)3.00ExcellentExcellent as ever, good amounts of grainy, caramlly toffee malt and low hop rate. My score 16/20.
Harvey's - Old Ale (or Sussex XXXX Old Ale)4.30ExcellentSuperb quality here, brimming with malty flavours and good hop notes in the background to balance the flavours. Good long sweetish malty finish. My score 17/20.

The pub is found in Bells Yew Green, East Sussex, TN3 9BJ.

A former two bar village local has recently had a refurbishment making the main bar area larger with a single counter serving it. Several rooms lead off the main floor but with no bar counters of their own. The four handpumps are unusual as they comprise much shorter handles than is normal - with red and white china grips. Handy for Frant railway station which is only 5 minutes walk away.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried 3 of them.
