Lunchtime. This is a fine old pub and the welcome from landlord and staff was warm. A shame they keep such a mundane beer range.

I had been in to the nearby Hoy, and Northern Belle. The landlord of the Belle told me that the beer in Barney's was superb. He was right.

A sunny Monday lunchtime, the doors were open giving good views over the harbour. Surprisingly few people about.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 54.40GoodThis beer seems to be appearing in many of Thorley Taverns pubs these days. The landlord told me it sells very well, although he prefers Directors.

Thursday lunch time, a warm sunny day with doors and windows open, and the smell of seaweed permeating the atmosphere. We enjoyed looking at photographs of Margate in years gone by, and sampling the very good Gadd's beer.

A hot summer Saturday afternoon, Margate was busy with visitors. I was not expecting much when I entered here, but I was very pleasantly surprised, the service was good, the bar was nicely decorated, and they had Gadd's in really superb condition.
