09 Jan 2019 (Magnus Greel)
Early to mid evening a few groups scattered about the pub, with a dozen or so more arriving during my visit made this busier than expected for a midweek evening. Both real ales doing well, I saw only 1 chap drinking lager.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00ExcellentFrom a new cask and pleased to say my expectations satisfied.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodClear and in fine form. Slightly sweeter than expected otherwise would be an easy 4*.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10AcceptableFlat and lacking flavour.

1620hrs pub closed. Sign on door declaring from 22nd Feb closed weekdays between 3 and 5pm. Deciding not to hang around for 40 minutes I decided to continue with my plan and head for Wye on foot.

A few in at lunchtime. We had a tasty meal with friendly service. It was good to have the meaty meat pie made on the premises. First time we had been in under the new management.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Madcap - Pegasus4.00GoodA darkish ale in good condition.

I was passing and there was a cricket match being played on the green opposite so I stopped for a swift half. I stood out the front and watch a lot of chaps sweating in their white.

We chose to sit inside for our meal which was very nice, but some customers decide to enjoy the warmish weather outside.

Busy in the restaurant area for our lunchtime excursion through the special Tuesday menu which proved both very tasty and good value. The service was cheerfully efficient.
