Another Shepherd Neame pub with a guest ale, I spent so much time looking at the collection of old radios that I forgot to make a note of the other beers that were on sale but I think the Red IPA was on.

Early afternoon and very quiet, apart from one customer checking in for overnight accommodation, I was the only customer. I looked at the landlord's collection of transistor radios, and the Keil Kraft model aircraft kits which were complete with balsa wood parts, instruction sheets, and some perished adhesive.

It was the first day of the Whitstable Oyster Festival and the town was crammed full with tourists, coaches, and Morris Dancers. The pub was busy with a good mix of clientele all enjoying a good drink.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Oyster Stout3.70ExcellentI came to Whitstable to try and find this as I had never tried it. This is a dark creamy ale brewed with a handful of fresh oysters in the boil. It is available in selected Shepherd Neame pubs during the oyster festival.
Shepherd Neame - Summer Sizzler4.00ExcellentAnother new beer for me. Light golden colour, hoppy and zesty beer.
