I had 32 minutes for my 1406 train to Plumpton so opted for a swift pint here and glad I did. Relaxed atmosphere and tastefully refurbished since my last visit 10 years ago.

A group of us were doing a tour of all the Harvey's pubs on the number 54 'bus route from Uckfield to Eastbourne, this friendly two bar pub was one of the stops on the way. My apologies for not reporting on all of the pubs visited.

| Harvey's - Ration Ale | 2.70 | | None of us had ever seen this beer before, it is a re-creation of a brew from the 1940s and the days of food rationing. We were all of the opinion that this cask was slightly on the turn, otherwise a tasty copper coloured session ale. |

When I first came here many years ago I always had difficulty in finding it from the railway station. Fortunately somebody has moved the railway station closer to the pub and getting to/from here is now easy. A traditional two bar pub catering for local trade, and serving good value sandwiches.
