Just before mid-day and a few customers were already in the pub, I took the opportunity to look on the station concourse and saw a BR Standard 4-6-0 in steam.

At the end (or beginning) of the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster, opposite the mainline station. A busy place but very pleasant with an excellant range on and in good condition. Perfect.

Part of the Severn Railway railway station. GBG entry 2011 and 17 times previously. Atmospheric recreation of a GWR refreshment room, attracting both locals and visitors to the Severn Valley Railway. A cosy interior offers ample seating and a roaring log fire in winter months. Six handpumps dispense the regular beers plus three frequently changing guests, which may be from local breweries such as Kinver and Bewdley or from breweries as far flung as Cornwall and Scotland. The Wyre Piddle, Royal Piddle is brewed especially for the pub. good value lunchtime meals are served daily in the adjoining Refreshment Room.
