Visits Details

25 Sep 2010 (Alenomore)
My second visit here, but first for the beer festival. Having done the Towns pubs first, I arrived here at 1330, and already a big crowd in. The theme here was to source ales brewed within ten miles of all the stations on the old GCR route, from Buckinghamshire, to the East Midlands, Sheffield and onto Manchester. Good weather and a great mix of Steam & many new Real Ale's made this a top class event. Recommended.

The pub is found in Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 1RW.

The home of the preserved Great Central Railway. This now annual event has a marquee on the main platform with a stillage holding over 40 Real Ales & Ciders. With preserved Steam and Diesel trains running return trips to Leicester North and a big crowd, this place had a great atmosphere. Recommended.

We have visited this pub once, seen 41 different beers and tried 11 of them.
