York races had just finished for the day and the city was flooded with racegoers. We passed a number of wedged pubs before at lasting finding room at the inn here at 19:00.

Captain Cook - Red Bay | 4.00 | | Smooth and malty red ale with a sweetish taste and full bodied mouthfeel. My score 16/20. |
Summer Wine (SWB) - Cossack Imperial Stout | 7.20 | | Powerful stout with intense roasted malt flavours combined with good hopping and an alcoholic dryness in the finish. My score 16/20. |

Brown Cow - White Out | 4.30 | | Excellent pale bitter with good malt and hop balance and a full bodied flavour. My score 16/20. |
Brass Monkey - Revolutions Porter | 4.50 | | Brewed for new Revolutions Brewery at Brass Monkey this was a black porter with plenty of malty flavours. My score 16/20. |
