Departed the beer festival early to fit in this one last pub before heading home. A pleasant gbg as well. Two ales on and quiet at 1530.

In Church Street, a Good Beer Guide entry 2011 plus previously in 1975/7-83/7-9/92/2007-9. 16 times in the guide. This well-established pub features two bay windows with seating, and a separate dining area where good value, freshly-cooked food is available every lunchtime and Friday evening 6-8pm. Breakfast is served on Tuesday from 9am and the Sunday carvery is very popular. There are old pictures of the locality and a cabinet of trophies won by the sports teams based here. A charity quiz is held every other Tuesday with live music on the last Saturday of the month. Local CAMRA branch Pub of the Year 2015.
