Happy birthday to me. Taking an easy cycle from Bethersden. Mid afternoon, quiet. I sat outside under the huge wisteria canopy.

Early evening and fairly quiet so we sat at the bar chatting to the barmaid and new licencees who arrived a week ago. We originally planned a 50 min stop between buses but decided stay and catch the one after.

A friend of mine had reported that this pub appeared to be closed, well only one way to find out for sure and that is to go there, it is most definitely open. Apart from a group of local villagers having an exciting conversation about drains I was the only other customer on this lunchtime visit.
