Few in for 5.30 visit. Nice convivial atmosphere.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Caledonian - Over the Bar4.20GoodSlightly generic beer, some bitterness with rather ordinary aroma. Darkish brown. Hint of toffee.
Marston's - Bass4.40PoorCompletely devoid of aroma, taste and any interest whatsoever. Rather a sad reflection of the once great beer
Marston's - Pedigree4.50Not Tried

Quite a few in for a 5.30 visit. Beers impeccably served as usual.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Purity - Pure UBU4.50GoodTry as I like, I can't love this beer. I find it too citrussy and fragrant for the pale ale it pretends to be. Well served, perfect temperature, with citrus and floral undertones and a sharp bitter finish and aftertaste. Not to my taste. Will try the Peddy next time - I have it on good authority it's excellent
Marston's - Pedigree4.50Not TriedDid not try, but the locals like it and looked perfect!

The pub is found in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, DE15 0LQ.

(Fairly) recently refurbished local which serves its community as well as a sizeable after work crowd. Impeccably served beers, not long before this pub will be in the Guide, IMHO. Typical lounge and bar, Bass and Pedigree as regulars as well as a frequently rotating guest. Landlord local CAMRA officionado.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 4 different beers and tried 3 of them.
