Cycle meet, early Sunday lunchtime. The pub is still struggling with consistency for its real ale offerings. Shame as this is a very convivial venue for us. Jolly time sat around in the main bar area. Diners well separated from the drinkers in the two other rooms.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00GoodFresh barrel, thankfully a decent pint.
Ramsgate Brewery (Gadds') - No. 54.40PoorA bit sour, first one out. Was taken off shortly after.
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10Not TriedAlso taken off before 1

Lunchtime cycle meet. 9 of us in the main bar. Not very busy. Disappointing ale choice - and both ales were taken off as we supped.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Fuller's (part of Asahi Europe) - London Pride4.10AcceptableNot at its best. End of barrel.
Harvey's - Sussex Best Bitter4.00PoorGetting to the end of the barrel. Flat. A fresh barrel was put on later after a sludgy pint was sent back.

Wet ride for a Sunday lunchtime visit. The main bar areas were crowded with many twenty-somethings, good to see. My cycling buddy and I had a cosy alcove near the log burner and enjoyed our pints.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Hogs Back - Three Hogs4.50Good4.0% version. A nod towards the alcohol intolerance of the Qatar World Cup?

New pub entry for me - although I was here on 21 April 1982 for my wedding anniversary. It doesn’t appear to have changed much. Sunday lunchtime cycle group meet. Nicely busy. Well kept beers, but not very adventurous.

A wet and windy afternoon. Once upon a time I lived around this way. It was nice to be back. The pub was much the same as when Sheps had it. Seemed friendly.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Moorhouse's - Blond Witch4.40GoodGood condition. Creamy and hoppy beer with a nice rich soapy mouth feel.

We cycled here with a thunderstorm straight ahead of us. The pub was empty except for the staff. It was friendly as always and a short lived power cut caused by the storm made it even more enjoyable.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Goldings (superseded by 4.1% version)4.70GoodA sweet slightly rose hip initial taste followed by a resinous bitterness after the swallow.

The pub is found in Staple, Kent, CT3 1LE.

A really old pub in Barnsole Road. The kind of pub you could imagine walking into after a hard day working as a farmhand and having a pint of Fremlins (RIP). It has 3 rooms: 1 is a public bar that's got a large TV, pool table etc. another is the dining room and the 3rd is the saloon bar. The pub used to be a brewery. Friendly enough and fairly busy for the middle of nowhere.

We have visited this pub 8 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 9 of them.
