Lunchtime visit ahead of football at the County Ground and the pub is crowded, mostly with people I know. The lone barman is struggling somewhat to cope, but remains cheerful, mostly.

Walk through the well maintained terraces of the old Railway Village to Emlyn Square for this delightful corner pub owned and operated by the Hopback Brewery. It had been an Archers house at one time. A showcase for Hop Back ales and sees guests too on the bank of 8 handpumps. Accommodation inside consists of some large scrubbed tables in settle booths and some "at bar" standing.

We have visited this pub 9 times, seen 39 different beers and tried 13 of them.
