A quick pint before catching a bus to Glen Helen. A very helpful landlord who telephoned the next pub on our agenda to make sure it was open as there had been five feet of snow up there. The coal fire in the front bar was smoking a bit so some of our group retreated to the back bar.

Morning visit, already a few locals at the bar. We had a good chat with the landlord about beers, pubs, and the Good Beer Guide.

Been coming here for many years and one of my all time favourite pubs. Welcoming atmosphere. Early evening and already busy. Free sandwiches being offered to all.
