Early evening visit before launch off for a train to Kent.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Lodge - Taking Liberties4.90PoorWhy I bought this having had a taster I am not now sure. Allegedly a raspberry ice cream pale, in reality a sickly murk giving too much of a cloying sugar rush and at a rounded £5 a pint too

Mid-evening and nice to catch up here with Simon F, who I bump into all too infrequently these days.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Black Lodge - Excuse Me Sir...6.10ExcellentThe novelty of these NEIPAs is definitely beginning to ware off with me. Itís very good though.
Black Lodge - Taking Liberties4.90PoorOh dear, I didnít like this at all. Murky. Raspberry flavours. Slimy mouthfeel.

Stood at the bar with Terry L until he had to leave for his quiz fixture nearby. Pub quiet tonight.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Bristol Beer Factory - Negroni4.60ExcellentIím not familiar with the cocktail of the same name, but I enjoyed this. Alarmingly red in colour. Orange and juniper and herbs.
Thornbridge / Thornbridge Hall - Severinia4.10GoodA dry, clear, golden beer. Tastes of lemon pith and peel but with a good malt backbone.
Northern Whisper - Tittle Tattle4.50AcceptableA Belgian-style Witbier. Iíve probably spent too much time in Belgium recently to give this much of a rating.

Considerably more relaxed in here than the Waterloo Tap was earlier.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Experimental Belgian Pale 4.50ExcellentAvailable on cellar run. Much fresher than the pint of this I drank last week. The better for it.
Bristol Beer Factory - Hawaii Juice-O 4.50ExcellentCloudy gold. Mango and pineapple. Hops too.

A late-evening visit almost until closing time. Full of locals and regulars at this time rather than shoppers and travelers.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Experimental Belgian Pale 4.50GoodA new beer launched tonight and unrelated to former Belgian Pales brewed here. Cloudy gold. Belgian yeast flavours and subtle hops.
Tap East - Dandy Cellarman5.50GoodUsually only available from keg; this pint from the one and only cask produced. A Pilsner-style Lager, well hopped with Mandarina.

Evening visit whilst waiting for a train. Music was being played at an uncomfortably high volume which spoiled my enjoyment and probably accounted for the pub not being as busy as I have found it on previous visits. Certainly if this trend continues I will opt to use the dry waiting room on the platform in future.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Tap East - Smokestack Porter6.00ExcellentA good beer to finish off the evening.
16 Aug 2018 (Stephen Harris)
A quick stop whilst passing through on the way home. Unusually quiet for a Thursday evening.

Not so busy, but it looks as if it must have been earlier as there are empty glasses and detritus everywhere Ė the whole place looks like it needs a good scrub.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Atom - Jennsenís Law 3.50GoodPuzzlingly described as a ĎTable Beerí, this turns out to be an amber-coloured, spiced Witbier.
Alechemy - Blood Orange Shake3.90AcceptableVery sharp orange flavours. Too sharp for me.

Mid-evening. Busier than it often is on a Sunday evening. Lots of red faces, many people having been sitting in the sun watching hockey.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ilkley - Tribus Lupulus v3.7 4.40ExceptionalA very fine beer. Golden and with a really good hop balance, featuring Ekuanot, Columbus and hbc 472. Ilkley seem to be on great form at the moment.
