We arrived soon after opening time, the weather was awful, extremely cold and windy, so everybody squeezed in to the bar area. Quite a few hardy souls in winter clothing braved the elements for a beer or two, but I suspect that numbers may be down on previous years.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Abigale - Hoyman's Porter4.70ExcellentBadged as Leas Lift Porter, and bottle conditioned. Unfortunately the brewery closed towards the end of last year, so this is probably the last chance to drink these excellent beers.

16:00 visit. Having left the Hawkenbury earlier than planned we headed straight to sunny but windy Folkestone. After visitng Chummys fresh seafood stall on the harbourside we paid the b/f a visit. My first time at this fest, and, although nearly sold out, the place was still fairly busy. They had a good turn out for both Friday and Saturday sessions. Some good ales were listed too. Depletion meant only two sampled at this time though.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Ripple Steam - Original Best Bitter4.10ExcellentGood condition.
Wantsum - One Hop Willamette4.50ExcellentVery good and nearly sold out.

We arrived soon after opening time on the Saturday, and already a good crowd starting to gather for a beer or two. Unfortunately the lift's water pumps failed just before we were about to leave so we had to walk up the zig zag path on the way back, something which turned out to be very pleasant and good exercise.

A jolly atmosphere with folk music being played outside. All drinks were by token - a sixpenny ticket dispensed from a bus ticket machine. Great fun.
