Monday evening, lively. I am here after a day’s sailing with some old school chums. We sat in the courtyard area and discussed passage plans for Tuesday.

An early evening visit for a quick pint. Busy and lively in here while the streets outside are totally deserted.

An unnecessarily hurried visit after I misread the train timetable. Followed by 30 minutes sitting on the platform waiting for the train. The food looked so good here that I was sorely tempted by thoughts of ‘second lunch’.

13:30 Lunch stop. Excellent food by the way. Busy with a mix of drinkers and diners. Landlord gave us a guided tour of the pub including a visit upstairs to see the renovation work and the original beams exposed by the work. The rear room that was originally served by a completely separate entrance is an unusual feature.

Mid-afternoon on Sunday and moderately busy. I have to say that the food in here looks superb. Blowing a bit of a storm outside.

Mid evening visit. Has fairly recently moved from Pubco to private freehouse ownership. Fairly quiet tonight but good food trade. Now marketed as The Alma Inn and Dining Rooms.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Adnams - Southwold Bitter3.70ExcellentStandard stuff
Purity - Mad Goose4.20GoodUpon ordering was warned the beer had not cleared and given a taster. Very honest - well done pub! Partook of a pint which had a strong and pleasant tangy taste but clearly had not fully conditioned

1300 visit. Third stop today. A very nice old place, 5 decent ales on. Good food menu noted too. This was in the gbg for 15 years until 1999. Been changed and refurbished since then, alas, not "in" any more, which is a shame. Nice place.
