Evening visit. Excellent rock band playing live on the stage. The security man must have an easy time here with such a well behaved crowd.

1300 and fairly busy but speedy service. This is currently in the 2012 gbg. It has been in twice before (1990 and 2000) so it is most welcome in this area. Ales were all in top condition too.

The pub is found in Rochester, Kent, ME1 1JT.

Friendly local in the middle of Rochester High Street, opposite a large council car park. This large single-room pub has a decent garden at the rear that gives a view of the old city wall. A varied menu is provided at lunchtime (no food Sunday). During the day this is a quiet pub, but in the evening it is often more lively, with live music sometimes playing, as well as jazz on Sunday evening.

We have visited this pub 5 times, seen 11 different beers and tried 7 of them.
