Lunchtime, after a very pleasant visit to the nearby Franciscan Gardens. “Do you fancy a drink?” My wife said. Would have been rude to decline. Sat in the very sunny, small walled garden. Nicely busy.

Noon start for a Sunday lunchtime session. Very friendly, good background music and a bit of sunshine in the outside courtyard. The landlady advised us to try the Monument next if we wanted good real ale.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Purity - Mad Goose4.20ExcellentSpot on.
Robinsons - Trooper4.70GoodBadged as Trooper “Day of the Dead” for Halloween. A good pint nonetheless.

I met up with a couple of friends here and found the place surprisingly quiet for a late Friday afternoon considering its prime location in the centre of town, just two other groups in. Only one cask ale today and only apparent by its appearance in the bottom left of the availabilty chalkboard! Here and the rest of todays visits ticked all the necessary Co-vid compliancy boxes.

Musket - Fuggles Golden Ale Green Hop4.00ExcellentFloral smooth light and creamy - cleverly done!

A nice boozer with interesting music memorabilia and good taste in the music being played.

Ian, John, Darren and I came here and mingled with people enjoying a post works-Christmas-party session. Put some songs on the Duke box but the queue was so long I never got to hear them.
