Lunchtime after a 5.5 mile walk including some of the Saxon Shore. The ale was lamentable (choice and condition) but I’m adding this as my wife and I had a very good value lunch in the sunny, enclosed garden and it was very dog friendly.

Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70PoorHobson’s choice - and a rather tired pint.

Lunchtime- I’d cycled from the Ship at Conyer and passed the Shep’s Three Mariners - it didn’t appear open. The Castle looked promising and welcoming - but what a disappointment on the choice of ales. I know where I’ll be going again when I’m next in this area.

There was a garden open in Oare that we could take the dogs in so we parked at Harty Ferry and walked the Saxon Shore Way to Oare. The Castle was the first pub we came to. A disappointing selection of beers but I stuck with decison to stay.

Shepherd Neame - Master Brew Bitter3.70AcceptableI have not tried this beer for a long time but thought it might be a tad better in the Faversham area. Unfortunately, it was very average.

Isabel was enjoying the garden in the Three Mariners up the hill so whilst Jane supervised her I popped in here for a swift half. Nice L-shaped pub, quite busy but with spare seating for me at the rear.

Woodforde's - Wherry3.80GoodGood condition but maybe it's me; has Wherry lost some of its zing in recent years?
