Mid afternoon friendly welcome in another back street yet rather large unrefurbished locals den gained my instant approval.
BeerABVScoreNotes
St Austell - Proper Job4.50GoodThis seems to be getting more prevalent, will it replace Doom Bar as the UK's celebrity ale?
Hook Norton - Sundial3.90GoodHouse beer badged as 'Landlord's Choice' light fruity refreshing amber coloured ale.

It is a long time indeed since I was last here, but the pub is instantly recognisable. Quite busy, with a darts match in progress and the Chelsea game on the TV.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Greene King - Ale Fresco4.30AcceptableThis is actually not bad. Biscuit malt base and a bit of a hop bite without the overpowering lemony flavour of previous years.
Marston's - Orange Tree Bitter3.20PoorA house beer, brewed I think by Marston’s although badged as ‘Trent Brewery’). Very mediocre indeed.
