Very quiet early on Saturday lunchtime, with only two other groups in. Just a quick refuelling stop on a country walk for me. Surprised to find the pub has been acquired by Shepherd Neame since I last passed this way.

The pub is found in Fordham, Essex, CO6 3LL.

A spacious and ancient, weather-boarded, country pub in the hamlet of Ford Street on Halstead Road. Large garden bordering the River Colne. For a while it was a Shepherd Neame pub but now a free house after a major refurbishment. The building has been split up into various areas and includes a pub, a dining / tearoom, a craft workroom and spacious function room to hire.

We have visited this pub once, seen 2 different beers and tried 1 of them.
