Visits Details

21 May 2012 (Stephen Harris)
Lunchtime visit before heading to nearby Memmingen Airport for our flight home. We were disappointed to find that the Kloster brewery in Ottobeuren does not open until 3pm, but at 11:30 we became the first customers of the day at the new brewery in the Hotel Hirsch – which is almost uncomfortably posh in the little inside bar. Only one beer appeared to be available, although the brewery has a repertoire of at least five.

The pub is found in Ottobeuren, Germany, 87724.

A very large, and distinctly upmarket hotel and restaurant in the touristy village of Ottobeuren, Bavaria. The hotel dominates the main square, next door to the comparatively small town hall and in the shadow of the Baroque Benedictine abbey. There are several smart dining rooms, a bar area and a very extensive expanse of pavement tables on the market square. The brewery is very visible at the main entrance to the hotel, and was established as recently as 2009.

We have visited this pub once, seen 1 beer and tried it.
