11:00 Planned to be the first stop on an Essex pub crawl. Shown as open at 11:00 on What Pub but firmly closed. It seemed to have an air of desuetude. Blinds half drawn, windows grubby. Went back at 11:45 but still no sign of life.

2030 hours visit. Only 1 or 2 customers apparent. As dead as a doornail and as no great lover of Bombardier I did not dally.

The pub is found in Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex, CO14 8AN.

It is a long time since last visit here when it majored in Adnams beer. Located in Old Pier Street it is deceptively much larger inside than its frontage might suggest. A number of rooms and bar areas including, to the right, floorspace creating an electronic games area. 3 handpumps in the front bar.

We have visited this pub twice, seen 1 beer and tried it.
