I had around 30 minutes to spare before Larkins Alehouse 14.00 opening so this cosy peaceful hotel bar with just a handful in sufficed. Only one cask ale available.

Shepherd Neame - Spitfire (or Spitfire Amber Ale)4.20ExcellentI was expecting a pint of warm sour vinegar thus am pleased to say just the opposite, near on perfect temperature condition and the nutty malty pepperiness associated with this beer.

Mid evening visit to this patrician hotel bar. We sat in the small snug by the hotel's reception desk.

Family dinner. Busy with diners and drinkers on a warm August evening.
BeerABVScoreNotes
Shepherd Neame - Whitstable Bay Premium Ale4.10GoodI know that it is fashionable in certain quarters to knock Shep's beers, but this was very refreshing on a humid evening:citrus with some malt body, but with some of that characteristic harshness that goes with the territory.Had a wonderful hop aroma: smelt of proper beer.
