17:00 visit. A Holts house and another National Inventory type. I was put onto this gem earlier in my travels today. A short walk from the previously visited Bird In Hand, further along the Liverpool Road, soon finds this lovely old 1903 built pub. I do like these untouched interiors. Very quiet on my visit but very pleasant with some locals in playing cards and watching the horseracing on the box. I can just imagine how these pubs were in the good old days, smoke filled and packed out every session! Lovely. Previously a gbg entry, 20 times in;1984/5/91/3-2004/6-9/11

Joseph Holt (see also Holt's) - Mild3.20GoodIn top condition. Went down well with a very nice Ham salad barm, freshly made by the landlords missus, that cost only £1.20. Well worth a visit.
