Disastrous visit. My original plan was to come here and hopefully get some Late Red then some fish & chips from the shop next door. I entered the pub and looked for the NHS QR code which I could not find. The left hand part of the bar was full with no remaining space for social distancing so I attempted to sit in the empty bar to the right but was told that I had to use the bar on the left. I decided to leave and got some verbal from the loud shouty blokes who were watching sports television.

Afternoon visit and very quiet with just one customer when I arrived and another who arrived later. I had one pint and then headed for the chip shop next door.

Early evening and fairly busy, we headed for the vacant right hand bar which for some reason here the yobs seem to avoid.

Early afternoon and just one other customer who was using the Guinness font to charge his mobile 'phone whilst playing the fruit machines. An enjoyable visit.

Evening visit, there was a small group talking very louIdly in the left hand bar so i went to the one on the right (the former public bar) which I had to myself. I could not avoid the conversation in the other bar which centred around their pub scoring system which seemed to be based on points out of ten for the cheapness of the beer and the quality of the Fosters or whatever.

Shepherd Neame - Howling Wolf4.50GoodThis is what I came in here to try. The Sheps monthly cask for November, it is brewed in collaboration with Mallaskoski of Finland. Too much vanilla flavour for me but still a good pint, I did not detect the smoky finish described in the tasting notes.

Early evening visit before heading for a nearby Chinese take away. I had a chat with one of the customers about the Red Lion in Llandovery.

Shepherd Neame - Northern Lights (collaboration with St Erik's)4.70ExcellentDescribed as a blueberry IPA this beer was brewed in collaboration with St Erik's Brewery and will be available throughout October 2019. A very tasty pint but I do not get the taste of blueberries as some people do. Looking forward to the Howling Wolf in November.

Oh dear, football was on the television, and the pub was full of people shouting at the screen. The beer was O.K. but I left as soon as possible to escape from the noise.
